Ras Al Khaimah, June 02, 2009: The RAK Half Marathon, known for setting precedents in road race organization, has opened registration for the 2010 event today. This early opening allows participants to plan their sporting season and training programs well in advance.
Organizers’ Perspective
The Race Director of the RAK Half Marathon explained the reasoning behind this early registration: “We are constantly striving to better this event and improve the services we offer to runners and our community supporters. Opening registration today allows more people the opportunity to plan their sporting season and to schedule any required training programs well in advance. It helps HR managers advertise the event and prepare company teams; an aspect that has become increasingly popular within the event and it adds increased value to our sponsors who can now benefit from association to an event that continues to create a buzz almost the whole year round.”
Enhancements and Features
In addition to opening registration for the Half Marathon and the Team Relay Challenge, the event website has been re-launched with a fresh new feel. The website now offers browsing in English, Arabic, and German, catering to the diverse audience that participates in the event.
Early Bird Special
Online registration is provided by the event’s organizing team, offering ‘Early Bird’ special prices for the races and associated activities. “For the month of June and online only, registrants can save up to a total of 280dhs over what they may pay if they register last minute,” stated the Race Director, adding that registration would close much earlier this year, on 30 November.
